Keeping Traditions Alive

No restaurant can begin to compete with the lavish attention and extraordinary dishes people create in their kitchens. This blog and our GROUP on The New Dede Med Social is dedicated to all who enjoy the delights of cooking; with special appreciation to the Armenian women who have passed their treasured recipes down through the generations.

It is my goal to keep alive this tradition so it is not lost and the spirit of traditional Armenian cooking has been keep forever. We hope the good feelings Armenian Cooking has given me, is passed on to you through my group and The New Dede Med Social.

If you are a young Armenian or part Armenian, I am asking you to start gathering the recipes from your aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers, anyone you may know and learn how to cook these fine dishes. Cook them with these relatives to learn all the nuances each individual has when cooking Armenian! Ask them to teach you so that you may pass on these wonderful traditional recipes to your own children as well. Together, we can all keep alive the wonderful food recipes of our Armenian heritage.
