Dede,
I am trying to make this dessert that I tasted at a Lebanese restaurant. They said its a honey pudding but I know it has cardamom in it and its more jello like. I searched online and made a recipe that I found it came out right but the flavoring is very tart like the plain yogurt that was an ingrediant in the recipe. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks.

I finally found out what the dish is that I was looking for. It's a Jordanian dish called
Keiskeya. The wife of the owner of the Mediterranean store where I tasted it, said that it was a recipe from her great grandmother! She gave me the recipe and the ingredients and even said that she would come over to my home to show me how to make it if I wanted! She also gave me her home phone number in case I wanted to try it on my own. More to come after I try to make it. How about that!

Recently sampled a dish in the new Mediterranean Foods store by us. It had barley, chickpeas and yogurt in it. Also some oil dribbled over it. Went back and the lady who made is not there! Does anyone have any idea what this is? Also a recipe? Please help.

This is in reply to Dede about what city I had eaten the mystery dish! Couldn't figure out how to post a comment!!!
I sampled this dish in Shelby Township, Michigan. That's about 25 miles north of Detroit. It was at a new market. The guy at the counter said he thinks the woman who let me taste the dish was his Mom! My son-in-law is Chaldean and he is the one who turned me on to this new market...but they seem to have products from all the Mediterranean countries. I really like the market.

Armenian Shish Kebab is a classic lamb dish, served hot off the barbecue or grill.
Springtime, lamb, and anything charcoal-grilled seem made for each other. Classic Armenian Shish Kebab is a fairly simple dish that, nonetheless, impresses any guest at the barbecue. While the meat is easy to prepare, it is truly best if marinated at least overnight before grilling.
Ingredients:
**1. Chaimen mix (basic Armenian spice mixture of fenugreek, allspice, cayenne pepper, cumin and paprik…
