No, not a stew, but some kind of grain dish. You use Jameed (dried Yogurt) and cook it for awhile. You can buy a bag of liquid Jameed, which hurries the cooking process! Add 1/1/2 cups of barley that has been cooked. Also add whole bulb of garlic an…

Mystery Dish Found

I finally found out what the dish is that I was looking for. It's a Jordanian dish called Keiskeya. The wife of the owner of the Mediterranean store where I tasted it, said that it was a recipe from her great grandmother! She gave me the recipe and the ingredients and even said that she would come over to my home to show me how to make it if I wanted! She also gave me her home phone number in case I wanted to try it on my own. More to come after I try to make it. How about that!

Mystery Dish!!

Recently sampled a dish in the new Mediterranean Foods store by us. It had barley, chickpeas and yogurt in it. Also some oil dribbled over it. Went back and the lady who made is not there! Does anyone have any idea what this is? Also a recipe? Please help.

My son-in-law is Chaldean and he is the one who turned me on to this new market...but they seem to have products from all the Mediterranean countries. I really like the market.
