Mediterranean Cooking is now Social
Hey Dede, love your website. Just like you I've been cooking since I was a little girl and come a Lebanese background. I also grew up not far from Detroit, but on the Canadian side of the border. Any way unfortunately my mother passed away when I was in my early 20's and wish I had written her recipes down. It's only once in awhile that I find a recipe that is as authentic to the way she used to prepare the meals. You have hit many of them on the head. What I am looking for is a (pardon my spelling) Mahklouto recipe. It was a lentel soup that she always made on Good Friday since we weren't allowed to eat meat. It contained, lentel, barley, corn, chickpeas and these little dumplings made from a mixture using bulgur. I know lemon juice was always added just before serving. I crave this dish so many times and can't find it anywhere. Do you have a recipe for it? It would be greatly appriciated.
Keep up the amazing site!

HI Patty,
I'm so glad you like my recipes and find them to be familiar :)
Honestly, I know a couple of lentil soup recipes, but I don't know this one, BUT I will ask my mom about it, I'm sure she knows it and I'll get back to you soon :)
Happy COOKING
