hello ,some one told me to use mystika in kanafe, I actually found it at a market, my question is what exactly is it ? My other question is ,in kanafe do you put sugar in the cheese mixture,De De's recipe does not , but I was told to mix the mystika with suger and then put it in the cheese mixture. thank you val

Hey Val, well you can add sugar if you like. I think mystika is a type of thickening agent used in Middle Eastern desserts. I don't use it just b/c my viewer's can't find it available in any places so I use other methods. And I don't add sugar only b/c the syrup or honey is so sweet. But again, you can make the recipes any way that makes you happy :)

thank you DeDe, I actually made the kanafe Saturday for my sisters birthday party ,my friend told me to put 2 TBL.of orange blossom water in the syrup , that had to be a mistake, it was to over powering for our tastes I will try it again with no orange blossom water. Thanks again val
